Echoscope Surveys of the San Francisco Bay Bridge W2 & W6 Towers- San Francisco Bay, CA

Genex Systems contracted with Bay Marine to provide high-resolution Echo Scope data of the W2 and W6 piers of the San Francisco Bay bridge in an ongoing effort to certify imaging sonar as a bridge inspection tool. Bay Marine mobilized the Echo Scope integrated with a Coda F-185 inertial positioning system aboard the S/V Eaglet in order to produce high-resolution images of the San Francisco Bay bridge towers. This data collected will be compared to past Bay bridge inspection reports in order to develop a specification for sonar-based bridge inspections. It should be noted that the Echo Scope data collection took 1 day while the diving took about 6 days.
