Three
receivers built on a common platform; System 500 is designed to perform
all surveying applications. The single frequency SR510 is built for
short baseline measurements with slightly longer occupation times. The
SR520 is a dual frequency receiver capable of high accuracy post
processed measurements with minimum occupation time. The SR530 is based
upon the SR520 but with RTK capability added. The upgrade path from
single frequency to dual frequency and RTK is simple with System 500
because of the common platform and operating system.
The modular design of System 500
makes it easy and convenient to switch configurations. Use System 500 on
a tripod for control surveys, in a backpack, or all on the pole for RTK
applications. Data is collected on industry standard PC cards that are
fully interchangeable with Leica conventional total stations.
While it’s true that all GPS
receivers use the same satellite signals, there is a significant
difference between brands of GPS sensors. Leica engineers packed the
latest technological advances into System 500 including fully
independent L1 and L2 tracking loops to ensure precise data with high
accuracy code and full wave carrier phase. P-code aided tracking
provides a decisive 13db signal to noise ratio advantage over
conventional cross correlation receivers. This means better signal
reception in difficult environments such as tree cover. State of the art
jamming resistance and Multipath Mitigation are combined with this
superior single reception and satellite tracking technology. The sum
total of this technology is called Cleartrak. If you are interested in
more details about Leica’s ClearTrak please download our paper that
describes the technology. The best way to understand System 500’s
technology put to practical use is to contact us for a demonstration.

productivity enhancing benefits on your jobsite at your earliest
convenience.
